Anna and Caolan had a Hidden River Barn Wedding in Cumbria and it was such a beautifully stylish autumnal themed wedding. To set the scene, imagine rich autumnal tones, dried florals and relaxed wedding vibes. Keep on scrolling for some beautiful Hidden River Barn wedding photography.

Anna told me she dreamed of a romantic, autumnal whimisical wedding full of all things Autumn, and that’s exactly how I’d describe their beautiful Hidden River Barn wedding. Anna wore the most beautiful boho wedding dress that had all of the whimsy and romance she wanted and lots of fabric to twirl. To go with the rich autumnal theme, her bridemaids wore rich burnt orange velvet dresses which stunningly complemented the day. Anna had told me she’d planned something a little different for her bridesmaids bouquets and instead of flowers, they had handmade embroidered hoops made by Anna. I’m normally the biggest advocate to invest in flowers for your whole wedding party, however the embriodered wedding hoops alongside the autum colours and Annas dried bouquet came together to create the most magical autmnal wedding vibe.

Hidden River Barn is one of my favourite venues and there’s no guessing why. The main wedding barn is huge and spacious and filled with so much beautiful light. The ceremony area has floor length windows that overlook the river and so much beautiful greenery that creates the most magical backdrop to say your vows. Anna and Caolan had a really intimate ceremony full of personal poems and readings that made it so much more special for them. After the ceremony we had the group pictures outside on the terrace, and after a small break in pictures for Anna to resume mum duties and feed her little one, we went to explore the river.
Weddings at Hidden River Barn
Anna had always said she really wanted to have pictures by the river, and only when we got down to the riverbed did I understand just how much this was the case! Anna ripped off her shoes, hitched up her dress and walked with Caolan around to the other side of the river. It was such a fun moment and they were both laughing and smiling as they carefully stepped on the wet stones around the water. Caolan did a fantastic job of carrying Annas flowers while she had her arms full of her dress.
Their portraits were really intimate and romantic and they didn’t need any help from me to feel comfortable infront of the camera. I love how their portraits really show the beauty of weddings at Hidden River Barn and encompass the raw, romantic vibe which Anna really wanted.

Surrounded by candle light, the speeches were short and intimate, creating lots of smiles and laughter which was an awesome way to end the evening formalities before the party began. Hidden River Barn has quickly become one of my favourite wedding venues.
