Colourful & Quirky Summer GRUB Wedding Manchester

It’s so magical to find a new fun and quirky wedding venue on your doorstep that is the perfect place for a relaxed joyful wedding, but GRUB wedding venue Manchester is one of those magical venues that makes me feel at home. GRUB weddings are perfect for relaxed couples who want a super chill wedding day and that’s exactly what Mollie and Harvey wanted. With GRUB’s charmingly cosy interior and fun, non-traditional exterior surrounded by funky wall art and murals, it was the perfect location for Mollie and Harvey’s celebration.

Weddings at GRUB Manchester

We started the morning in the lush Manchester Indigo hotel and Mollies room had stunning panoramic views of the Manchester skyline. Since both Mollie and Harvey were getting ready in the same hotel I was able to spendn the morning with them both for prep which is always my favourite as I get to capture both sides of the morning. The vibes were super chill just as I knew they would be and before we all knew it, it was time to head off to GRUB. Even though it mid September, with the typical Manchester weather, it happened to be the absolute hottest day of the year for their GRUB wedding and before we even got to GRUB, we were all desperately fanning ourselves and I took to standing infront of the industrial airconditioning unit for a good few minutes before Mollies arrival and I had to get cracking.

Mollie and Harvey had their ceremony in the super quirky cinema room. It was super moody and had hints of romantic charm as the only light came from the fairy lights and candles. Their ceremony was celebrant led and everyone inside, guests and myself included, were desperately fanning ourselves as the heat inside the cinema room was really intense. With almost 100 guests in the cinema room for the ceremony, the room was baking and I think most people had visible sweat dripping down their faces! After Mollie walked down the aisle, I handed over my fan so that they could use it which made a super memorable moment and definitely brought some laughter. After their ceremony, everyone headed out of the cinema room for congratulatory cuddles and fresh air. We headed outside for some epic confetti and afterwards everyone sat outside to chill and chat.

The rest of the day was exactly as they envisioned it; relaxed and happy and easy in the sense that the wedding they wanted was effortlessly chilled. After an array of funny and relaxed speeches back inside, and after a very hot time photographing everyone inside, everyone headed back outside and tucked into street food from the GRUB wedding vendors which added to the effortless, chilled and relaxed vibe Mollie and Harvey wanted from their wedding.

GRUB has some epic colourful wall art just outside which has a quirky mural vibe to it and that’s where we decided to take their group photos. They didn’t want too many; mostly the usual few family photos but they really wanted fun group photos with their wedding crew and friends which is my favourite way to do group photos. My favourite ways to make group photos fun include having the groups walk towards me and everyone got into the spirit which is the best feeling. We kept Mollie and Harvey’s couple photos in the same place by starting at the mural before heading inside and having some fun with the iconic wall art inside GRUB. My favourite spot for photos is the beautiful ‘’I feel love’’ art outside. I love adding a bit of romance into the portraits – mixing fun and relaxed with romantic moments is my favourite way to create a beautiful collection of couples photos. Weddings at GRUB have quickly become some of my favouirte quirky city wedding venues. Back in the cinema room, karaoke was set up and everyone got involved, including both Mollie and Harvey’s mums and Mollie and her friends. There was an iconic ABBA sing along which got everyone dancing and if you’re looking for a fun wedding idea, karaoke can be added to the list.

The evening was super chilled and Mollie and Harvey were prepared for the heat by having an ice pop station and giving out the lollies to the guests as the evening dancing started. It was one of those dancefloors that was full all night and everyone was dancing at one point or another. The evening ended with glitter facepainting and food cart dessert churros. Honestly, the night ended the wedding perfectly and it was one of those weddings that perfectly suited the couple and made its memorable mark.

If you’re having a fun and relaxed GRUB wedding, I’d love to hear about your plans. Get in touch to see if I’m available and let’s make it happen. Huge thanks to Mollie and Harvey for letting me be part of their amazing wedding at GRUB Manchester.
