hirst priory wedding – summer woodland wedding lincolnshire

Laura and James’ Hirst Priory wedding was such a fun day with a really chill vibe and it’s easy to see that they were so into each other. Laura and James’ story is all about rekindled love and flying across the world to find each other again after nearly 10 years apart. Of course, they wanted their wedding to have a big ‘knees up’ feel where the whole family could come together and have a big celebatory party.

When I arrived for morning prep Laura and her girls were really relaxed and doing each others makeup and listening to music which was a really fun time. The girls popped some bubbles and we took some fun pictures in their matching pyjamas. Then the best thing happened: James’ was brought into the bridal room BLINDFOLDED so Laura could style his hair without him seeing her! It was such a fun moment, and although not quite a first look, was such a unique experience. Laura put on her dress and revealed herself to her dad who gave her the biggest hug and then we went downstairs so Laura and James could get hitched!

Wedding Photography Hirst Priory

Their Hirst Priory wedding ceremony was an emotional one – after 10 years apart there were lots of tears, laughter and love. Of course, we headed out for confetti and then took the group pictures in the lovley woodland area which was amazing and looked like a woodland wedding! I also photographed most of Laura and James’ portraits in the woodland which was so fun. The party got started with singing and James even picked up the mic and turned his speech into a full on song for Laura which was a great surprise! We popped out hoping for a sunset but instead had storm clouds rolling in which looked amazing and did a bit of exploring in the Hirst Priory cellar which was really fun. While we gone the party was set up for the dancing to comence and Laura and James held on to each other the whole time and danced the night away.
