Lauren and Dan’s Fishermans Retreat wedding was a fabulous combination of fun and relaxed with an intimate atmosphere. With rustic styling, fun surprises and laughter, their day was very much focused on family, togetherness and having a really fun time, which was exactly what they wanted their day to be about.

I joined Lauren for prep in the morning at her parent’s house and it was abuzz with excitement. Even though prep was busy Lauren was really chill and bubbly and ready to get the day started. There was a big debate on whether or not it would rain but the thought of a little water didn’t bother her at all. After being helped into her dress and doing a first look reveal with her dad, me and the bridesmaids all jumped into the vintage camper van and headed to the church. Lauren had forgotten her flowers so ended up arriving late for the wedding but couldn’t help but laugh. Their ceremony was held by a family friend and full of personal stories. Of course, after the formal bits we all headed outside for the confetti (one of my favourite bits!) and set off for their Fishermans Retreat wedding party.

Their Fishermans Retreat wedding party started with canapes and bubbly on the terrace and after a little while we went on a little explore around the lake and grounds. Of course, we had to take some pictures by the lake and include all of the Peak District countryside. After some personal speeches the party continued downstairs and Lauren even picked up her violin and joined her friends in the string quartet! It was definitly a first for me. The party got into full swing as the band started playing and the mac’n’cheese van set up outside. Let me tell you – the mac’n’cheese was amazing and a huge hit amongst the guests (and me!) I left their Fishermans Retreat wedding with everyone on the dancefloor and the party in full swing.
